Cleaning
Over time, your sterling silver jewelry naturally develop a darker tone.
Some people llike this antique look to their pieces however, if you prefer the bright shine, there are several ways to maintain your jewelry's bright silver look:
-
Wipe your jewelry with a soft cloth after removing them and to maintain your jewelry in mint-like condition, it is recommended that you use a non-abrasive cleaning cloth at least once a month.
-
The best way to store your kjewelry when you are not wearing it, is to place it in a sealed plastic bag.
-
The luster of pearls can be restored and manintained by simply washing them occasionally in lukewarm soapy water.
-
Chlorine and direct sunlight can severely damage sterling silver and semi-precious stones so please avoid prolonged exposure to both (wearing jewelry in the pool is not a good idea).
-
Swarovski crystal is best maintained
-
Pearls are more fragile than most other semi-precious stones and should be given special care. Make sure that your hairspray and perfumes are completely dry before putting on your pearls.
-
Swarovski crystal is best maintained with mild soap and water in combination with a soft, non-abrasive polishing cloth (see note below about our "Sunshine cloths").
-
Jewelry cleaners may damage a lot of semi-precious stones as well as crystals and freshwater pearls and is not recommended.
-
3 Pumpkins Designs recommends the use of "Sunshine cloths" for cleaning jewelry. These soft, non-abrasive cloths are available from 3 Pumpkins Designs, please contact us for more info.
